Summer Plans pt. 2

Well, since Kian didn’t think enough of his coding skills I guess it’s up to me to create some kind of project list for this summer. This isn’t set in stone yet, my attempts to talk about it with Deb keep getting foiled by other topics.

  • Code Cleanup – Answerline, Search, VAULT, IPadmin, Shared Classes and possibly Styx all need to be looked at very carefully
  • App Rewrites – It’s time to put the old version of surveys and keys out to pasture
  • IPReg Restructuring – Aside from the quick tweaks being made to better support conferences, we have some more sweeping code reorganization stuff that needs to be taken care of.
  • Customized Staff Page – possibly, might have to be an off the clock project. Think Google Fusion but more technical.
  • Conference App – need to write a quick app that allows conference services to specify conferences that can register and what name they’ll have to enter on the registration page.
  • VSF/RSD Polishing – Clean up both PHP and C++ stuff, add “Show MAC” button, make debug mode a toggle internally instead of a commandline parameter.
  • Anything else that may be in Bugzilla
  • New Public Site – Maintenance, upgrades, new plugins, etc.
  • MyStats – Make it conform to the new look, check for odd code and work to improve it.

In general I’d like to get a better handle on some of the code that Mike has written and see if he does anything cool that I’m missing out on. There will also probably be other stuff that comes up the summer, I know Deb’s hoping that our working with Conference Services on their meal planner app will generate some other contract jobs. It’s definitely different from the norm and kind of exciting, so I’d definitely be up for some more of that.
