Xbox Live Friends Sidebar Gadget 1.2
I’ve had this sitting on my hard drive for quite some time. I think there was something else I wanted to do with it, but I’m not really sure. It’s been running pretty well for me for months though, so I think it’s about time I released it!
Version 1.2 has a bunch of small fixes in it and some cleaned up graphics. There’s some issues with the API I’m hitting causing ghost friends to show up, not much I can do about that. I’m also noticing some weirdness with the scroll bar in the config panel. It’s not worth fixing right now.
You know what time it is!

Thank you for your Gadget. I have been looking for an xbox live online status gadget. I had trouble with Adam Kinney’s Gadget wich uses Microsoft Silverlight. This silverlight does not like me for some reason running 64bit Vista tried to get it working then gave up when i found your gadget, Thanks a million. How often does it refresh by the way?

Every 2 minutes. Beware the ghost friends that I mentioned in the post, they show up pretty regularly. You can visually filter them by ignoring the people that don’t have the smaller status line under their names.
I might do something programatically about that, but then people that choose not to share that info would never show up. Can’t win, it seems.

I didn’t notice that there was a newer version out there. I was using the original version 1.0 that I got linked over to from a Google search. So now commenting on this new version and how it looks even better. I think that the manual refresh still stands as an idea. I love the link to send a message to someone and the pagination looks great. I see the ghost gamertags that you described on my list as well although I am not sure what exactly causes them to be there. Still it is looking great and I thank you for your work on this. I will be letting my fellow gamers know about your tool.
