I'm interested in using the power and expressiveness of the web to work on
challenging problems that benefit end-users. I'm passionate about web performance,
code quality, and working with a team of people that I can learn from every day.

Work Experience:

 * January 2021 - Present : Senior Software Engineer : Netflix

   Senior UI Engineer working on a team within the Netflix Studios org,
   adding features and providing support for several internal tools &
   platforms used for marketing assets for Netflix content. Also contributing
   to several internal cross-team campaigns to improve developer velocity
   and increase collaboration.

 * June 2017 - December 2020 : UI Engineering Lead : Amazon Game Studios
   
   UI Engineering Tech Lead for Crucible from Relentless Studios,
   also UI Engineering Manager responsible for hiring and mentorship of a
   team of Frontend Engineers. As a Tech Lead I designed and implemented
   APIs for UI and game engine communication, built and maintained workflows
   for UI Engineers, implemented features, deeply integrated with the engine
   and gameplay systems, and was a resource across the entire game team
   whenever questions about the UI arose. As an Engineering Manager I was
   responsible for hiring, mentorship, career growth, and advocating for the
   UI team across the broader game team.

 * Aug 2012 - June 2017 : Web Programming Lead : ArenaNet
 
   Built an amazing team of programmers responsible for guildwars2.com,
   arena.net, account.arena.net, in-game commerce functionality, and game UI.
   Responsibilities included web architecture, R&D, ongoing programming
   projects, hiring, report career development, and long-term direction
   of the team.

 * Sep 2008 - Aug 2012 : Web Programmer : ArenaNet
   
   Senior developer on a small team working on multiple projects both
   customer-facing and internal. Projects include custom server-side
   JavaScript platform, multiple in-game features via embedded webkit and
   more traditional web-facing APIs and marketing sites. Also responsible
   for hiring new team members and training of other developers.
 
 * July 2007 - Sep 2008 : Web Developer : Yahoo!

   One of three web developers responsible for the frontend work on the
   relaunch of Yahoo! Video. Responsibilities included not only layout and
   interactions but also CSS/JS optimization, PHP framework programming, and
   working on the PHP-based CMS used for editorial content on the site.

 * Sep 2003 - Feb 2007 : Web Application Developer : Restek Program at WWU

   Developed and supported multiple web-based tools working closely with
   Restek staff, students and other campus departments. Specialized in
   integrating server-side programming with client-side scripting to produce
   rich, degradable interfaces for web applications.

   BS in Computer Science. Also completed Web Programming Certificate
   through the Internet Studies Center at WWU.
